A legacy of art

"This catalogue focuses on a unique assemblage of artwork, which forms the nucleus of the club's permanent collection. Some of the works have been on fairly continuous display over the years, while others, due to a lack of wall space, have been tucked away in storage, or hung in the intimate, out-of-the-way stairways and corridors one finds in a rambling nineteenth-century structure. This publication is intended to provide club members, as well as those with an interest in historical American art, with the stories behind the paintings and sculptures that make a visit to the National Arts Club such a memorable experience."--Jacket.
