Been Hoping We Might Meet Again

"This book features the edited and annotated complete correspondence between PET and Marshall McLuhan from the moment of Trudeau's election as prime minister of Canada in 1968 and McLuhan's death in 1980. Trudeau was an intellectual giant and beneficiary of Trudeaumania, a product of late-sixties celebrity worship and his youthful charisma. Marshall McLuhan was the celebrated media guru, coiner of such phrases as "the media is the message," "global village" "cool media vs hot media". He was consulted by government, corporate and academic leaders around the world to help them discern the future of society as it was transformed by modern communications technology. Both men were also serious Roman Catholics, deeply attached to their faith and shaped by it."--
