Book of Gobi

The U.S. Forest Service established the first smokejumper base in Oregon history in Cave Junction in 1943 to provide rapid response to wildland fires in the remote and rugged forests of Southern Oregon and Northern California. In these volumes, those who served at the base respond to the question of what made "Gobi" special, and recount their experiences there.
