Boswell's London Journal, 1762-1763

James Boswell left Scotland for Enlgand to become an officer in the Footguards. This is an intimate record of his dual struggle - of son to assert his independence from father, of literary genius to save itself from extinction. This journal is remarkable for its frankness and honesty in recording the facts of the author's life.
