Cape Dorset sculpture

"This book showcases a collection of 71 outstanding works of contemporary Inuit stone sculpture, a few related graphic works and some classic older carvings. All the artists are from the community of Cape Dorset, Nunavut, in the Arctic, the community that has had the single greatest impact on the worldwide recognition of Inuit art." "Featured in this book are new sculptures by 44 leading artists, many of whom were instrumental in shaping the look and direction of Inuit art. The artists contribute stories and personal insights about their sculptures."--Jacket.
