Colin Jackson

"Colin Jackson CBE is one of the greatest British athletes of all time, a spring hurdler of phenomenal speed and technical ability. Holding two world records, he has collected a record-breaking haul of 25 major championship medals and has become, in the words of Michael Johnson, 'the greatest sprint hurdler ever.'" "Spring 2003 saw Colin finally hang up his spikes after an amazing 20 years competing - and winning - at the pinnacle of world sport. In his autobiography, Colin describes with searing honesty the highs and lows of his career, from breaking the world outdoor 110m record in Stuttgart in 1993, to finishing only seventh in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics after sustaining an injury in the second round." "For the first time Colin gives his opinion of the darker side of athletics: the drugs, the corruption and the personal sacrifices a world-class athlete needs to make in order to compete at the very highest level. He talks frankly about the difficulties of having to live his personal life in the public eye, including the dramatic split with his close friend and business partner, Linford Christie, and coping with the sudden and tragic death of his friend and team-mate, Ross Baillie."--BOOK JACKET.
