Compendium of British office holders

"This unique reference book brings together for the first time a comprehensive collection of data on the major British office holders since the Roman Conquest." "The material is presented in table format providing birth and death dates as well as date of taking office, thus supplying the reader with practical at-a-glance biographical information. There is also a series of league tables showing holders of major public offices ranked by length of time in the post."--Jacket.
