Computer Communications

"... Begins with a clear analogy between human and computer communication, moving on to fundamental principles such as data transmission, protocols and standards. Network organization and functions are then considered together with ISDN, X.25 and other means of connection. The third section looks in detail at the main business applications of this technology. Electronic mail, file transfer, Electronic Data Interchange, mobile communications and fax are all discussed in terms of both current use and future possibilities. The book concludes with a realistic case study, bringing together the areas already covered by examining how modern communications affect the business of a small company."--Back cover.
