Critical theory since Plato

"Critical Theory Since Plato is a chronologically arranged anthology that presents a broad survey of the history and development of literary criticism and theory in Western culture. Edited by two scholars in the field of literary study, this text puts an emphasis on the individual contributors to the development of literary criticism, from Plato and Aristotle to the present. Selections have been expanded to include a fuller representation of philosophical sources and influences, with a wide representation of current interests and trends. Selections reflecting the social, moral, and political influences on the development of the discipline of literary criticism and theory make this text appropriate for courses in Literary Criticism and Theory at any level."--BOOK JACKET.
