Cyberdog

Cyberdog, Apple's new internet toolkit, brings Apple's ease-of-use expertise to the internet by introducing the ability to merge the World Wide Web, full-featured e-mail, and other internet services and technologies with your desktop environment. Based on the multiplatform industry standard OpenDoc, Cyberdog breaks down the barriers between the internet and the desktop, allowing you to focus on your data and not on where it is. This book provides a practical and hands-on overview of Cyberdog, describing what it looks like, what it does, and how to use it in everyday projects, from setting up your internet account to adding live Web pages to your word processing documents. Guidance is also provided on how to extend and customize Cyberdog by adding or replacing its part editors (to handle Netscape Navigator plug-ins, Java applets, and so forth). Sample Cyberdog solutions are offered in order to give a clear understanding of the topic. Also featured is the complete Cyberdog API - the programmer's guide to creating new "Cyberdog-savvy" parts.
