D.J

"Dorothy J. Ross - widely known and respected as Headmistress of Melbourne Church of England Girls' Grammar School (Merton Hall) from 1938 to 1955 - was an icon in female education." "In this new biography, Barbara Falk seeks to deconstruct the icon. Her interest is to discover the 'real' Dorothy Ross, the private person behind the carefully constructed public image. In doing so, she illuminates the life and times of a prominent thinker and participant in the field of education and captures - with nuance and sensitivity - the dynamics of a long-term same-sex relationship."--BOOK JACKET.
