Death marks time in Trampas

Battle Hymn for a Lost Lawman, the short novel that opens this quintet, is the story of Peace Harrigan. Named by his mother in sheer determination to keep him from becoming a lawman-Peace's father, brother and grandfather had all been lawmen-all killed in the line of duty. Two-Bit Higgins, in Glory Blast, was just a bartender in a mining town until the prettiest girl in town married him and the sheriff made him a deputy. Now he's become a legend. Border Blood introduces one of the author's most fascinating characters, the Yaqui Kid, who has a reputation on both sides of the border and a price on his head. In Death Marks Time in Trampas, Jimmy Christmas has come to Trampas because Susan Gates's uncle couldn't respond to her request for help. But Susan thinks he's too young and inexperienced for the job ...
