Dream Garden

Dream Garden is the first appreciation and evaluation of the poetry of one of the South's - indeed America's - premier writers, Fred Chappell. A complete assessment of the extraordinary career of Chappell the poet, Dream Garden portrays both the attractive personal side of the man, who is loved by his many friends and students, and the writer, who first gained notice in his native North Carolina but whose community of readers has over the years expanded far and wide. The appeal of the volume is enhanced by the authority (and diversity) of the contributors - several of whom are renowned poets in their own right - and the range of interpretations and points of view presented.
