Duck and kangaroo

From the author of THE OWL and THE PUSSYCAT and from the photo-illustrator of HENNY-PENNY, NEVER CRY WOOF! and the MRS. MUSTARD books comes this endearing love poem about a DUCK and a KANGAROO. “My life is a bore in this nasty pond, and I long to go out in the world beyond. I wish I could hop like you,” said the Duck to the Kangaroo. In this book, Jane Wattenberg has woven several of Edward Lear's very own paintings of animals (find a turtle, squirrel, parrot and owl), as well as bits of paintings from many other naturalist artists 1550-1850, into the pages of her evocative photo-collage illustrations. This is a beautiful, emotive and loving interspecies friendship, LEAR-ical and ro0-mantic!
