Eero Saarinen

"Through the eye of photographer Balthazar Korab, this book provides an insider's view of the buildings and working methods of Eero Saarinen. It joins iconic photographs of Modernist masterpieces in their prime with many rarely seen images of Saarinen's buildings and their design, construction, models, and details, enriched with intimate portraits of his professional colleagues, home, and family." "The photographs are grouped by project, and the projects are arranged in chronological order according to the date of the commission. Defining images for each building - often the famous and most published views - open the sections, accompanied by images of models and construction photographs (when they exist in the Korab archive), with exteriors, interiors, and, in some cases, related gardens and building additions, Related images of interest, as well as plans for the buildings, are reproduced in appendices."--Jacket.
