As the ability to prepare a business plan is one of the most important learning objectives in any entrepreneurship course, the textbook is centered around that project. However, this text can also be used for its comprehensive coverage of entrepreneurial concepts, and for getting students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset -- thinking and acting like an entrepreneur. Whether students are developing a business plan or not, it is the anchor, the central concept, of this text. To support this process, there is a sample business plan shown in Appendix B with sections that align to each chapter of the textbook. Each unit is aligned with a Big Idea in entrepreneurship with content arranged to support the business planning process.
