Ex-Iles

"In the history of cinema, the Caribbean Islands have served predominately as exotic locations for Hollywood & European romantic & adventure films which say nothing at all about the realities & experiences of the indigenous inhabitants of the islands. Ex-iles constitutes the first major attempt to describe, analyze & theorize in one book the history, the context & current shape of film practice in the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique, Haiti, Curacao, Jamaica, & Trinidad & Tobago."--Publisher description.
