Flight of the Solar Ducks

In an unequal world, half the planet lives in comfort - while the other half festers in a giant rubbish tip. Aracuria is a boy with a mission. In an exciting adventure, he and his friends seek the treasure that will stir the people to rebellion and set this world to rights. But when they board the Solar Ducks for the planet Draco, they can hardly know what terrors lie ahead. A fast-paced sparkling science fantasy. First published in 1988, winner of the Kathleen Fidler Award and one of the 100 recommended titles listed by the British Schools Library Association the Aracuria trilogy now looks strangely prescient with its depiction of a world divided between North and South, facing climate change and ecological disaster with its young heroes battling demon bankers.
