Florida's Unexpected Wildlife

"Award-winning author Michael Newton introduces the curious, the strange, and the unexplained in Florida's Unexpected Wildlife. The usual suspects - giant squids, sea monsters, inexplicably huge animals, unicorns, and the Skunk Ape (Florida's relative to Bigfoot) - are all included. The book explores the history of each creature, whether it is an extinct or merely exotic species, and the ensuing investigations into its existence. Newton also delves into lesser-known mysteries: a ghost kangaroo; a dead shark on the edge of a lake; "extinct" birds; pink alligators; and El Chupacabra, known mostly for leaving behind a trail of dead animals drained of their blood."--Jacket.
