Gender and Groupwork

Based on practice experience in both the UK and the US, Gender and Groupwork brings together the best of groupwork knowledge, skills and values in a true transatlantic partnership. Often moving, and always engrossing, these accounts encompass groups for older women and those facing inequalities in health care. The book also describes innovative work with homeless people, caregivers, lesbian and gay youth, and particularly domestic violence, where groups are often the intervention of choice. Providing new ideas and new models to help move practice forward, Gender and Groupwork demonstrates that thinking about gender can enrich the work of all groupwork practitioners and can make a real difference in people's lives.
