Good night Irene

Eight hours on an August Sunday. That is how long it took Tropical Storm Irene to destroy hundreds of houses and businesses and leave hundreds of people homeless on August 28, 2011. With three writers and a dozen photographers covering three states, this book describes the full extent of the disaster, including detailed reporting on hard-hit towns. Includes stories about: Two artists who watched their studios float down the river on YouTube ; A cemetery that was desecrated, leaving corpses on a highway ; A weekly newspaper that published on time after its offices and computers were left under water.
