Grunge Seattle

Telling the fascinating story of grunge rock's beginnings in basements, bars, and garages across the Seattle area to its explosion as an internationally popular style of music, this guide discusses how and why grunge appeared in Seattle when it did and uncovers the people and places in the city that defined a movement. Including three maps and packed with information about the city, this resource describes the bands that defined the grunge sound --The Melvins, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Mudhoney-- the clubs where they played, and key locations in Seattle where grunge history was made.
