I. M. Pei

"When it was first announced in 1984, I.M. Pei's project to build a glass Pyramid in the courtyard of the Louvre was considered surprising. Twenty years after its inauguration, the Pyramid has become a symbol of the Louvre Museum and, indeed, of Paris: more than eight million visitors pass through it every year. This book, with a preface by I.M. Pei, retraces the origins of the project and presents its realization with a number of previously unpublished sketches by the lead design architect working with Pei at the time, Yann Weymouth."--Jacket.
