Few women had a more remarkable or more intimate view of top-level decisions in W.W.II than Joan Bright. With the encouragement of General Ismay, she became a director of a center of information for field commanders and later manager of the British delegation to all conferences - a task that involved flying in advance of the admirals and generals to arrange for the Allied sessions, and was a witness to the planning and maneuvering of Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin.
