Jerry Falwell, man of vision

Jerry Falwell is pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. This church began under his direction, and today the 17,000 members sponsor worldwide missions, oversee a Christian academy, seminary, and liberal arts college, and televise church services to several nations. Jerry Falwell is still pastor and the guiding force behind these extensive programs. Falwell, known to all as Jerry, attacks life in the belief that to each question there is an answer and to every problem there is a solution. The solutions often lie in direct intervention from God, for Falwell knows from experience that God still performs miracles for His people. Jerry Falwell: Man of Vision is a look at this man who expects miracles. It's a view of the man behind the pulpit: his early life, his warm and loving family, and his commitment to serving God all his life. It's a look at how this busy pastor divides his time between the ministry, college administration, and speaking out on contemporary moral issues. It's a glimpse of the forces which have enabled Jerry Falwell to accomplish much and the faith which allows him to continue with an ever-widening vision. Most of all, this is a book which explores the vision of a minister of God: the desire to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth. - Back cover.
