על הספר
Alabama-born Kerry James Marshall (°1955), who shares common ground with Luc Tuymans, is regarded as one of the most important painters of his generation. Seen through the filter of Afro-American identity and history, Marshall's work critiques the assumptions of the art system and art history. This publication of old and much new work also includes a selection from the artist's sculptures, such as the series of gigantic stamps with Black Power slogans, as well as collages, photographs and installations. It accompanies a major travelling exhibition in Europe.0Exhibition: M HKA, Antwerp, Belgium (11.10.2013-02.02.2014) / Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Denmark / Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Barcelona, Spain / Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, Spain.
