Madame de Staël

Daughter of Jacques Necker, future finance minister of Louis XVI, Anne Louise Germaine Necker, Baronne de Staël-Holstein, known by the name of Madame de Staël (1766-1817), is a woman of many talents. Writer ( Corinne or Italy ), philosopher ( From literature considered in its relations with social institutions), propagator of the German and English romanticism, feminist before the letter, it does not cease still today to surprise us. In her attentive and emphatic approach, Sophie Doudet gives us of the one who affirmed that her life "was a witness that must also be heard" the image of a woman curious of everything, agile, innovative, claiming for her as for her Sisters an absolute right to happiness.--Babelio
