A distinguished poet, storyteller, novelist, journalist, essayist, critic and with participations in theatre and cinema, Benedetti published more than 80 works and received several awards and tributes during his lifetime. His candor, sincerity and honesty present in his literature and poetry works "made him the prey of choice for many artists and cartoonists" who illustrated his books and other works.
