Marx 2020

As we approach the year 2020, the question of how Marxism can remain relevant in a constantly changing environment where social movements are spreading across the globe is as charged and important as ever. In this provocative and critically engaged introduction to Marxism, Ronaldo Munck offers an accessible examination of the essential role that Marxism still plays in today's thought and policies. To do so, Munck analyzes Marx's theories in the context of global development, the environmental crisis, financial austerity, and feminism andqueer theory, among other ideas and current events. Munck also offers a straightforward report on the state of Marxism in the wake of the global financial crash. Encompassing transformations in both the Global South and the Global North, Marx 2020 provides a thought-provoking guide to Marxist and alternative thought and the action it inspires. --
