Michael Collins

Biography of the charismatic rebel who "co-ordinated the sweeping Sinn Fein election victory of 1918, organized the IRA, set up the first modern intelligence network, masterminded a series of prison escapes and supervised the fundraising to finance the movement. Collins probably never killed anyone himself, but he did order the deaths of people standing in his way, and even advocated kidnapping an American president. He was the prototype of the urban terrorist and the real architect of the Black and Tan War"--P. [4] of cover.
