Michael Heizer

"Created with bulldozer and dynamite in 1969 in the vast expanse of the Nevada desert, Michael Heizer's Double Negative was one of the first and remains among the most influential of the monumental 'earthworks' sculptures in and of the land ... a 1,500-foot incision on the edge of a mesa 80 miles from las Vegas ... its site is now officially part of the collection of The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles ... captured in this book with 25 oversized plates that document the sculpture's creation and impart a sense of it scale"--Cover.
