Middletown Jews

What did it mean to be a Jew in Muncie? That is what this book seeks to discover, through a series of oral narratives. Was there discrimination, and what was it like? What sort of people settled in a small midwestern town? How did they fare? The Jewish experience in Muncie reflects what many similar communities experienced in hundreds of Middletowns across the Midwest.

המשפט הראשון: My grandfather settled in Cleveland very early-probably in the late 1870s.
