Moses among the Idols

In this book, Amy L. Balogh brings together comparative religion, Assyriology, and biblical studies to illuminate the status of the Hebrew Bible's most important figure-Moses. Through comparison with ancient Mesopotamian idols, she reads Moses as YHWH's idol, offering a new paradigm for understanding divine-human mediation in the ancient Near East.
