Mummy's boy

"In 2009 Larry Lamb starred in two of the nation's favourite television series as Gavin's lovable father in the heartwarming comedy Gavin & Stacey and as the twisted villain Archie Mitchell in Eastenders. With millions of people watching both, he simultaneously played two very different father characters. Fatherhood is a major theme in his autobiography too as he recalls the turbulent relationship with his father who exacted psyhological torment on the family as Larry grew up - and later proved to be a source of inspiration for Larry's portrayal of Archie Mitchell. Things My Father Never Taught Me is by turns heartrending as he recalls the disintegrating relationship with his father, searingly honest as he describes the effect his childhood had on him in later life - particularly as he became a father himself - and funny as he tells captivating tales of making his way in the world, breaking out from Essex and accidentally finding himself a new career path in the world of bright lights and acting."--Publisher's description.
