Murder Can Singe Your Old Flame

Desiree Shapiro is a big woman, in both body and heart. And it's her big heart that gets her into this mess--investigating the suspicious death of her ex-boyfriend's new wife. Bruce Simon had been a louse when they were dating...but no matter how dysfunctional he might be in relationships, Desiree didn't think he could have pushed Cheryl onto the West Fourth Street subway tracks. The police did, though, so Desiree reluctantly agreed to help Bruce out by looking for other suspects. Cheryl had been a flight attendant--and just before her death she'd voiced suspicions about one of her fellow airline employees. Could one of them have been smuggling drugs--and willing to kill to keep it a secret? Desiree's doing her best to bring this case to a smooth landing. But danger is about to come out of the clear blue sky....
