My Brother's Keeper

"My Brother's Keeper" is a story of racial healing. Andrew and Donte meet briefly in a black hospital, where Andrew is recovering from a beating received while walking home through the 'hood. Donte, whose fourth illegitimate child has just been delivered there, robs Andrew while he's sleeping. Later, Donte is arrested for not paying child support, and Andrew is arrested for attempted robbery. The two men meet again, forced together in jail as cellmates. They fall asleep one night and are transported to a Virginia plantation in the year 1831, where they are both taught valuable lessons.
