Nixoncarver

What would happen if celebrated writer Raymond Carver and legendary political animal Richard Nixon just happened to meet while walking along a California beach? And what would happen if they became - gasp! - friends? Nixoncarver, that's what. In a brilliantly imagined story, we read about Tricky Dick's tormented childhood and Carver's existential angst. Imagine a black-suited Richard Nixon nestled into a leather reading chair, his back to a view of the Pacific, as he scribbles frantically on a yellow legal pad. Now picture, across the room, a puffy Ray Carver seated at his typewriter in his straight-backed chair, a pillow beneath him to ease his swelling hemorrhoids. Has this scene really happened? No. Could it have? Read nixoncarver and make the call.
