One minute gone

"Porter Hall is leading a comfortable life as the single father of six-year-old twins in Manhattan. On a pleasant October day, he receives three seemingly unrelated phone calls. The first tells him his divorce will soon be final. The second informs him his soon-to-be ex-wife is moving to a home for the emotionally disturbed. And the third is from a friend, Jamie Trent, asking him to have lunch. Soon, Jamie will vanish, and Porter will be in jail on the verge of losing his livelihood, his home, and his children. Only then does it occur to him that the three calls from that pleasant morning were connected, each part of a carefully constructed plot to destroy him"--Page 4 of cover.
