על הספר
An ailing noblewoman is possessed by the spirit of Murasaki Shikibu, who begins to tell the "real story" of the Uji Chapters of the Tale of Genji. This version of the Uji chapters ranges far outside the mansions of the Kyoto nobility: Pirates rampage in the Seto Inland Sea, descendants of the Emishi tribes polish deadly skills on a lonely island, and from Mutsu province the rising warrior classes spread gold and swords throughout the country. Multiple stories intersect and eventually combine into a single image.
