Oscar Niemeyer

"The work of Oscar Niemeyer added a new perspective to Modern architecture in the twentieth century. The designer of Brasilia showed that the rhythmic, sensuous lines of Brazilian modernism were as legitimately Modern as the rectilinear lines of the Bauhaus. Now the last living Modern Master, Niemeyer is known primarily for his large-scale institutional and civic designs throughout Brazil and Europe. Yet another significant aspect of his career has been virtually ignored: his residential designs. Oscar Niemeyer Houses showcases these unappreciated architectural gems."--Jacket.
