"This collection of original articles on Oscar Wilde and his writings covers all aspects of his work, from his neglected poetry to his renowned The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Importance of Being Earnest. Taken as a whole, the book represents a balanced view of contemporary Wilde Studies. Contributors range from internationally renowned expert Wildeans to new voices in the field, pointing the way forward for future research. The main focus is on the genres in which Wilde wrote, but there are also special chapters on Wilde's biography, Wilde as a Victorian, and Wilde on the Web. The book provides an up-to-date and comprehensive profile of Wilde that will appeal to all those with an interest in him, from general readers to sixth form students, from undergraduates to academics."
