'A meteor of spirit, science, talent and activity'. This is how Goethe described the Dutch scientist Petrus Camper (1722-1789). It characterizes Camper as a fascinating example of the scientific culture of the Enlightenment. This volume sheds new light on Camper's versatility, engagement and charisma in all fields and disciplines he ventured and published on.
