Ramblin'

Laugh, cry and enjoy a few adventures as former newspaper feature columnist Dave Rasdal explores highlights of his 30 years on the road. Meet 11-year-old twins who play all day in a treehouse, a retired band leader who dreams of starting an accordion club, and a woman who worked at the same business for 76 years. Spend a week in a semi-truck delivering refrigerators to California, race a Porsche 911 around the twisting curves of a road course, and float more than a mile high in a hot air ballooon. Visit the iconic Inwood Ballroom in Spillville, the historic King Theater in Belle Plaine, and a little-known community of cabins along the Wapsipinicon River known as Muckersville. In "Ramblin': recollections of 30 years on the road," Dave Rasdal provides insight into "the best job in the world," takes you places you might not ordinarily go, and shares cherished memories you won't soon forget.
