Re-Imagining Nature

"Re-Imaging Nature demonstrates how the Christian tradition enables an approach to the natural world which opens up a meaningful and positive dialogue with the natural sciences on the one hand, and the humanities on the other. At the same time, it provides Christianity with an approach to nature which is aesthetically satisfying, apologetically useful, and ethically productive. Alister McGrath engages in serious theological dialogue with the works of Augustine, Aquinas, Barth, and Brunner, as well as natural scientists, philosophers of science, poets, and those in the emerging area of biosemiotics. These discussions explore the potential of natural theology to enable a productive and significant interaction between Christianity and a wider culture, including the natural sciences. Rich in historical analysis and theological understanding, Re-Imagining Nature shows how the past developments of natural theology might illuminate and inform its theory and practice in the present."-- Publisher's description.
