Return to Wigan Pier

"One Saturday night when the alehouse was busy, we hopped over the yard wall, gathered a few pop bottles from the bottom crates and over the next few days handed them back to an unsuspecting landlord for money. "Ted Dakin's third memoir is filled with more tales of his childhood in Wigan. In "Return to Wigan Pier" Ted also compares today's weather with winters past, housing then and now, gambling habits, the recession and even the habit of Church goers. On a more personal note Ted also shares tales of games of spin the bottle and grief in the community, which led to wrestling lessons in the name of helping a close friend.
