Salaam

Salaam weaves storytelling, humour, and politics with the history of the Cape Muslim community. The script tackles contemporary issues ranging from cultural imperialism to mixed marriages in a series of personal stories and monologues. The action of the play moves fluidly through multiple timeframes to focus themes of cultural identity, history and group belonging through the lens of personal memory.
