Secrets of the spirit

" On the night before he died, Jesus Christ shared with his disciples - and with us - the fantastic secret that enables ordinary men to fulfill the rigorous demands of the Christian life. These deeply moving thoughts of the Saviour before his Crucifixion - in effect; his Last Will and Testament to us - have been faithfully recorded in the five chapters of John (13:1-17:26) known as 'the Upper Room Discourse.' In the span of time from the beginning of the Last Supper until he stood at the edge of the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus uncovers the very core of his experience and ministry: what his Father has told him about life and death, about heaven and hell, about prophecy and history, and about our relationships with one another. In Secrets of the Spirit, Ray Stedman penetrates these same passages of Scripture and comes up with a meaningful interpretation to aid modern-day disciples in understanding more clearly Christ's plan for our future, his total understanding of our needs, his preparation and provision for us, and how to carry on his Word and work on earth"--dust jacket flap.
