All of this alongside contemporary interviews with those who have brought the great detective to life on stage and screen. >If you want to know the variety of firearms toted by Holmes, when he first took to sporting a deerstalker, when Roger Moore played Holmes or Robert Duvall Watson, how Mark Gatiss is on both sides of the camera in *Sherlock* then you will find the answers here. >Illustrated throughout with period engravings, attractive theatre posters and book jackets as well as modern-day location shots and stills from TV and film adaptations. Now fully updated, this is a compendious guide to all the stories, their author and the enigmatic pipe-smoking creation at their heart.
