Spinning tales from downunder

While trapped with a two-year-old daughter and little money in a failing marriage, a bike provides Kerry McComish with a means of escape from drudgery. Soon, it also leads to tuition in the art of cycling. But her emerging independence then comes crashing down with a horrific near death experience that also wrecks the business she has been developing. Kerry climbs back on her bike, in every sense, and before long is engaging in major organised cycling tours in both New Zealand and Australia, finding romance and adventure along the way. With an easy writing style organised into bite-sized parts within the main chapters, Kerry provides a delightful exposé of her own unique, gutsy character and a clear insight into the community experience these trips provide. More than that, we find ourselves contemplating deeper aspects of life as she takes us lightly through the human elements amidst diverse landscapes.
