Staging Politics in Mexico

"In Staging Politics in Mexico Stuart Day has written an innovative account of the relations between Mexican culture, politics, and theater." "Staging Politics in Mexico analyzes the neoliberal debate in plays by four Mexican authors: Sabina Berman, Vicente Lenero, Victor Hugo Rascon Banda, and Alejandra Trigueros. Day elicits the ways in which these playwrights stage the complexity of neoliberalism, providing insight into a global trend and its manifestations in Mexico. He thereby produces a timely book that goes beyond literary analysis to encompass, with equal insight, cultural history and political commentary."--Jacket.
